Bounty Hunter posted this fishing report on 09/01/10
Capt. Paul ran another Open Boat Seabass trip today. On board were regulars Steve Senff, Tom Miller, Tom Fidz & newcomers to the Bounty Hunter Kurt & Mark Berry. The guys could not have picked a better day weatherwise to enjoy one of the better days of Seabass fishing. Paul fished 3 of his favorite snags and the bite was non stop on all 3. The crew put together a limit catch of 125 nice Seabass up to 3 lbs. and a couple of Porgies. As usual we had a great group on board. The guys were fun to fish with and we look forward for their return. The Sept. 6 & 8 Open Boat Bluefin trips are now filled. Thank you to all that called. Next Open Boat Seabass will be on Sept.16. Next Open Boat Bluefin will be on Sept. 15

Tuesday, Aug 31: Another great day on the Sea Devil! Captain Bob sailed to the Shark River Reef and made a drift after spotting big blues stacked thick on the bottom. Immediately, many anglers were hooked into big blues on jigs. Some hit the deck, some spit the jigs. There was lots of excitement & mayhem. Young Griffin Mullett, Madison, NJ had the first big blue fish to hit the deck. Soon, his dad, Coner and friend, Jonathan Butler, Summit, had some big blues hit the deck. Happy Birthday to Frank Reams, Mt Ephraim, NJ. He and Al DeVito, Cherry Hill, were each catching them both with bait and jigs all day. Joe Bender and friends, Cresco, PA, had a blast reeling in the big blues. While Joe, Billy, Rich, Dennis and others caught a few early on, John finally got the knack of it and had a few big blues hit the deck himself. There was a steady pick at the blues for most of the day, with a few ferocious flurries of fish and Bob only had to make 1 move. All in all, a very good day, with all anglers bagging big blue fish. Don’t listen to the weathermen! The seas are calm and we expect they will remain calm right through Thursday! Plan to arrive at the dock by 7 a.m.

Capt. Paul had the Ashley DeMaio charter on board the Bounty Hunter for a day of Seabass fishing. Joining Ashley were her sister Kim and good friends Andrea, Melissa & Jessica. Paul ran out to the Seabass grounds and found a swft current and tough conditions. After getting the girls thru the learning curve they started to put Seabass in the box. Paul made several stops, drifted and anchored and the best the girls could do with the conditions we had was to finish the day with 45 Seabass and 1 Porgy in the box. It''s a rare occasion when 5 young woman charter a boat so it was a welcomed change from our daily routine. The Aug. 31 Open Boat Seabass trip is filled. The Sept. 6 Open Boat Bluefin Tuna trip is now filled. 2 Spots are still open for the Sept. 8th Open Boat Bluefin trip. E-Mail or Call me at 732-323-8700 for details or to reserve your spot.

Capt. Paul had an Open Boat Bluefin trip today. On board were Bounty Hunter regulars Steve Senff, Mike (Sharkyispy), Chris Seebode and Son Christopher and new commers to the Bounty Hunter, Doug and Robert. Paul located the bigger Bluefins and the crew Jigged with hammered Diamond Jigs and 14 oz. Flat sided Glo Jigs made by "The Old Man''s Tackle Box." The fish were much larger today and the boys had their hands full with some fish that were in the 100 lb. class. We had our Under fish by 9AM a nice 46" Bluefin and Mike landed our Over fish a 52" Bluefin later in the day. In between everyone had a shot at the larger fish with only a few reaching the boat. For the day we had 23 bites, fought 13 fish and landed 4. All on Jigs. A great group to fish with, plenty of laughs and a lot of frustration but that''s Bluefin fishing.
